Waterfight!

Dear friends,

Thursday...

What a morning!! It was hard to get out of our beds, but after a fresh shower and eating something we could start our morning lessons. Today we made a trapeze as parcours and the kids were doing very well. But it was so hot and there wasn't a lot of wind. So what to do now? Let's organize a waterfight!! The kids had a lot of fun and also the fight between the Tirion and the ribs was great! Mister Tai, the local trainer, and the kids on the Tirion formed a great army against the ribs.

After the lessons, Mathieu and Laurent played tennis against Kevin and Mike, the translators. The score was 5-5, but then it became dark, so a nice score for the last game of our stay.

To finish the day we had to bring up our monkey skills. Enjoying ourselfs with trowing the aftersun in the air, the bottle of aftersun ended up a beam in our room. On the picture you can see how we tried to get the bottle back. It was very important to get it back, because without aftersun our skins will be very dry. Finally Mike used his monkey skills and saved us from peeled skins.

See you again on sunday evening! (Till then we are in Beijing. Yihaah!)

M on the bund

Dear friends and family,

Wednesday we started with a nice breakfast! Toni's wife brought us to a baker so we could buy some nice croissants, coffee wafers and sugar bread. After a great breakfast we started the lessons. Also Thomas Annicq, manager of the National Olympic Community Project, attended the lessons today.

In noon we were invited to have lunch with Toni, two of his business partners and Thomas. We went to the same restaurant as we did a week ago, and again we had such a great chinese meal!

Before we resume the lessons, we went sailing with the Tirion. There wasn't a lot of wind, but we had a lot of fun!! We jumped into the water to refresh ourselfs and we even tried to waterski behind the Tirion! In the afternoon we were very happy to see an evolution with the kids.

After a great day we went to downtown Shanghai to have dinner with Thomas. He invited us for a dinner in the restaurant 'M on the bund'. First we had a drink on the terrace on the 7th floor. What a view!! Under the restaurant - on the 6th floor - there was also a bar, Glamour Bar. We wouldn't go home without taking a look in that nice bar, so our evening ended with a drink on the 6th floor.

It was a lovely day, but we were so tired that almost everyone felt asleep in the taxi!!

Mister Shu, be proud of us!

Nihaow!

After a splendid weekend and a great shoppingday a new week has started. This week there are a lot of kids. More than 30!! It is a homogeneous group but the boys are huge and big! For some kids the position in the boat must be adapted to keep the boat sailing.

Today it was a special day for the sailing club because the responsable of sports in Shanghai visited the location and sailing school. This day was very important for the club; the responsable has to give the authorisation to continue the activities of the sailing club. We think we did a great job for Mister Shu (aka Toni) and we hope it's gonna be okay for the future.

Tonight we got a lift by Toni's wife to the carrefour in downtown Shanghai. Normally it's the last big shop we did before our return. But first of all we went to Decathlon. Laurent needed new 'slippers' because one night he was to wild and broke one of his shoes. :-)

Now we're waiting for Thomas Annicq, who's plane has just landed in Hongqaio and is joining us for a day. We expect him within an hour and have set some beers cold to receive him well.

We think we will have a nice evening and hope you will have a nice afternoon in Belgium.

Big kisses,

The Shanghai Team.

Live @ the belgian consulate

Hi Belgians!

Friday evening we were invited for a reception at the belgian consulate in Shanghai city. For the first time in China we had the occasion to be well dressed. It was very pleasant to see belgian faces after a while. We had some good champaign, real belgian beer and some nice food.

After that we went to the famous Bar Rouge, where we met a lot of belgian - and mexican ;) - people. We had a great time, there was a good music and we had a very nice view on the bund by night.

It was a plesant night with a lot of fun and some good drinks. The return to our house was hard. The taxi driver transformed his cap into a disco-cap and became a Johnny... We were not suprised that we suddenly get stopped by the cops for a check of the papers. That middle in the night. Grmbl!

Sleep tight.
